The color LUTs
simply can't do.
Ever.

The fundamental difference

A LUT doesn't know
what your image is.

A DCTL reads it, analyzes it and acts accordingly. The difference is not aesthetic — it's mathematical.

Conventional LUT
Static table
  • Treats every single pixel exactly the same
  • Doesn't detect skin — the look destroys the face
  • Calibrated for one specific color space
  • In another space the image breaks
  • No parameters — all or nothing
  • Zero adaptation to image content
ViewGrade DCTL
Per-pixel mathematics
  • Analyzes each pixel individually
  • Detects skin automatically and protects it
  • Internally calibrated to DWG · Rec.709 · ACES
  • Same DCTL, always correct in any space
  • Parametric sliders — full control, no code
  • Color science built into your node
The ViewGrade Ecosystem

9 tools.

FAQ

Everything you need to know.

Do I need DaVinci Resolve Studio or does the free version work?
You need DaVinci Resolve Studio (paid version). The free version of Resolve does not support third-party DCTLs. DCTLs are a Studio-exclusive feature.
What is the difference between a DCTL and a LUT?
A LUT is a static table that treats every pixel the same. A DCTL is a program that runs pixel by pixel and can analyze each pixel's content: detect skin, calibrate to the color space, respond to local luminance. The difference between a fixed map and an intelligent system.
Does it work with any camera?
Yes. DCTLs operate on footage already converted to your working space via CST. Blackmagic, Sony, Canon, ARRI, RED, Fuji — any camera works correctly.
Can I use each DCTL separately?
Completely independent. You can use only GLOOK Pro for a quick project or combine all nine in the same node tree. Each DCTL solves a different problem.
How do free updates work?
Your Gumroad receipt is your license. When we publish a new version, email us at viewgradecolor@gmail.com with your receipt and we'll send the update at no extra cost. No subscription, no expiry date.
